teamLab Planets Tokyo tickets: what to know before reserving

The practical differences between standard and premium entry, wet-floor preparation, Tokyo Toyosu access, and cancellation terms.

01

Planets is a full-body museum, not a regular art gallery

teamLab Planets in Toyosu combines immersive artworks with spaces where visitors enter water and interact physically with installations. That changes the preparation: comfortable clothing and bare feet can matter as much as securing an admission slot. The venue is not interchangeable with other teamLab locations in Tokyo, so verify the museum name and address before paying.

Start with the official teamLab Planets visitor information rather than a generic 'teamLab Tokyo' ticket. Check whether the selected ticket is for Planets in Toyosu, the visit date, time window and the entry type; do not assume any pass covers every teamLab exhibition.

02

Standard admission versus premium entry

The official ticket store offers entrance passes and a premium-pass category. A higher priced category does not automatically mean the same inclusions on all resellers; compare the benefits and visit conditions shown on the final checkout page. For most visitors focused on seeing the artworks, standard admission is the sensible baseline to compare against.

Some third-party listings sell different entry windows or admission packages. Use the date selector to verify that your preferred slot exists, and inspect the cancellation policy before booking. One GetYourGuide admission listing for Planets specifies non-refundable tickets: never presume free cancellation merely because another attraction offers it.

03

Prepare for water, mirrored floors and light

The official visitor guidance asks guests to remove footwear, warns that some water reaches about knee height, and highlights mirrored surfaces. Clothing that can be rolled above the knees may be easier than long loose trousers. Strong lighting and dark areas can be uncomfortable for some visitors; consult venue accessibility notes if that matters to your group.

If traveling with young children, plan close supervision and check the venue's stroller policy. Lockers exist for normal belongings, but oversized suitcases need special handling. Do not schedule the museum directly after an airport arrival with all your luggage unless you have arranged storage.

04

Finding the Toyosu location without rushing

The official access guide places the museum a short walk from Shin-Toyosu Station on the Yurikamome line; Toyosu Station is another route with a longer walk. Save the exact venue in your map and allow for transfers from central Tokyo. Unlike a guided sightseeing day tour, admission generally does not include getting to the museum.

Build a half-day around the Toyosu area rather than assuming this attraction sits in Shibuya or Shinjuku. Check local transit, weather and your booked entry conditions the day before you go.

05

The final booking checklist

Before paying, confirm Planets/Toyosu (not a different teamLab venue), exact time/date, standard versus premium admission, cancellation conditions and how the mobile entry ticket is redeemed. Visit the operator's official website for current rules and cross-check any reseller listing.
