DATA & PRIVACY

Privacy and photo handling

Last updated: October 12, 2026. This page describes how the Korea Waynote independent travel project currently handles the optional written-question feature and related editorial drafts.

Information you choose to submit

The website contact form collects the message topic and message text, stores a random private access code and our reply, if any. It is not public, and the sender can delete the contact request with that code. Our travel question form may collect your selected language, destination, approximate travel date, travel-party description, interests, written question and up to three optional pictures. You are instructed not to submit names, phone numbers, identity documents, private addresses or sensitive personal information. The system also records a private retrieval code, question status and the time of submission.

Why we use it

We use question data to deliver a written reply and, when needed, translate between your language and Korean using an AI service. Images are stored in private file storage and accessible to authorized administrators. Technical platform logs may be processed for security, operation and abuse prevention.

Public articles and separate permission

Consent to receive an answer is separate from permission to reuse an anonymized question or a picture for an article. Neither permission is required to submit an ordinary question. We do not automatically publish submitted images or original questions; editors must review content before any permitted reuse. Avoid uploading recognizable people or material you do not have permission to share.

Access and deletion

We do not require a visitor email or phone number for question retrieval. Save your private access code: possession of it allows you to look up an answer. Anyone with the code may be able to view or delete that request, so do not share it. The question status page offers an option to delete the request, its reply, related private photographs and associated internal editorial drafts. Information is otherwise retained while needed for the stated purposes and is subject to administrator removal; a scheduled automatic deletion period has not yet been enabled.

Third-party services and links

We use a website hosting and database provider as well as AI processing for some translations and drafts. Outbound links may lead to independent transport providers, tourism authorities or partner websites whose privacy practices are separate from ours. We do not currently collect card payments through this site.

Questions about your data

Korea Waynote accepts privacy, correction and other website inquiries through the contact form. You do not need an email address: save your private receipt code to check our reply and delete that inquiry. To look up or delete a travel consultation, use the written-question interface with its separate access code. Do not send identification documents through the contact form; some rights requests may require a secure identity-verification process.
